For the Epic Monster Tea Party, instead of meeples from GameCrafter (at 40¢ a pop) you could try their People (such as https://www.thegamecrafter.com/parts/people-red). They’re half again as tall (and half again as heavy), but are a third the price and come in the same colors as the meeples. Using them would effect what bag sizes you pick up, however.
