Hello Gentleman, long time listener first time replier. Like the idea for Baombardier Beetles. Try the old Disk Wars game from FFG http://www.ebay.com/itm/FFG-Diskwars-Waiqars-Path-Waiqars-Path-Complete-Set-Limited-Edition-Zip-SW-/131224825694?pt=Games_US&hash=item1e8d9bef5e. Many circle tokens of different sizes for cheap. Also another idea I had as you were trying to figure out a way to tell who owned which beetles. Make the disk with a glossy coated paper and use dry erase markers to identify each player’s beetles.
Keep up the good work.
Scott
So in Bombardier Beetles you’re dropping beetles on the countryside. I know any time I drop beetles on the countryside some of them land on their backs & flail around trying to flip over. I kept waiting for you to talk about this part of the game. So here are two ideas: if a beetle lands on its back there is some kind of die roll to get it to flip over & use its ability, or if a beetle lands on its back it takes it one turn to flip over & then it can use its ability.
I like Scott’s dry erase idea. The game Wits & Wagers has dry erase cardboard disks.
Your Practicing The Pitch is my favorite part of any board game podcast. Thanks.
